Mama Red & the Dark Blues – Friday the 13th Howlings.

Friday the 13th is upon us, and who better to haunt the Ellington Jazz Club stage than Mama Red & the Dark Blues.

Bringing you loved tunes from The Wages of Sin, new offerings from the upcoming album and some classic bluesy covers, this gig will take you on a musical journey to Hades via Lost Love Canyon, Near Miss Alley and Shotgun Street – and bring you out feeling like you’ve ridden a thousand miles on a horse named Sorrow, but lived to tell the tale.

Intimate and exposed, this show brings you the demonic harmonics of the Dark Blues, with a range of raw new songs and stories to share. It will also showcase the talents of some of Perth’s most dangerous musicians, who will weave you a dark and immersive sound narrative.

The brilliant Sanshi will join us on stage to add his haunting didgeridoo sounds to Mama Red’s heartbreaking vocals, with the wicked Mike Beal opening the show with some of his most evil acoustic originals.
